Donna Heidel

D. Heidel holds an MS in industrial hygiene and is a certified industrial hygienist (CIH) and a fellow in the American Industrial Hygiene Association. She is a senior industrial hygiene consultant with Bureau Veritas where she leads the nanotechnology area of practice. Prior to joining Bureau Veritas, she conducted research at CDC/NIOSH on the application of health and safety management systems for the safe synthesis of ENM and safe commercialization of nano-enabled products. She also has 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry on developing occupational exposure limits, hazard bands, and risk-based control solutions (control bands) for active pharmaceutical ingredients. She is published on topics including hazard and control banding and the inclusion of occupational health and safety considerations into the design of facilities, processes, and products.
