Social Perspectives
Nanotechnology constitutes a great promise for domains as diverse as product development, environmental conservation, medicine and information technology while simultaneously giving rise to numerous concerns about potential health risks and environmental hazards. In addition, nanotechnology raises wider social and ethical issues regarding unintended long-term consequences, social and financial risks, issues of governance and control and fundamental issues about life and human identity.
Nanolandmaterials Inc. (NMI) focus on synthesis and applications of environment friendly nanomaterials. Green nanomaterial chemistry and green nanomaterial processing are our top preference. The unique proprietary nanomaterials at NMI have a wide variety of applications in energy, health care, and environment fields to support sustainable economy and human wellbeing.
Stakeholder engagement and dialogue are essential to the responsible development of nanotechnologies in Europe. The European FP7 project NanoDiode, launched in July 2013 for a period of three years, establishes an innovative, coordinated programme for outreach and dialogue throughout Europe so as to support the effective governance of nanotechnologies. The project integrates vital engagement activities along the innovation value chain, at the levels of research policy, research & development (R&D), and the use of nanotechnological innovations throughout society.
The Colorado Nanotechnology Alliance is not-for-profit economic development organization governed by a strong board of directors whose core represents nanotechnology companies in the state. The Alliance provides a common, cohesive and unified voice on behalf of nanotechnology. It serves as the catalyst organization to connect, coordinate, facilitate, promote, educate, and unify industry, government, academia, and citizens around the benefits of nanotechnology commercialization.
