National Nanomanufacturing Network: A survey is being conducted by the International Electro-technical Commission Technical Committee 113 (TC 113) on Nanotechnology standardization for electrical and electronic products and systems (Nano-electro-technology).

International Electrotechnical Commission Technical Committee 113 is responsible for the development of international standards for characterization and performance assessment of nanoscale products and subassemblies for electrical and electronic products and systems (nano-electrotechnology).  In this rapidly emerging field, it is important that TC 113 set appropriate work priorities by identifying those nanotechnology areas for which standards are critically needed to accelerate innovation and commercialization.

In order to assist the international community in standards priority setting, all stakeholders in nano-electrotechnology worldwide are invited and encouraged to participate in a brief survey at http://www.energetics.com/IEC%2DNISTSurvey/survey.html. Through the survey, IEC TC113 members hope to:

  • Build a consensus on key challenges to society for nano-electro-technology implementation and international markets. Possible examples include energy, healthcare, environment, emergency response, security, and multimedia communications.
  • Propose selected technologies for responding to new work items proposals on nano-electro-technology for TC113's consideration.

The results from this survey will be used by the TC 113 to assist in identifying those nanotechnology areas for which standards are critically needed to accelerate innovation.
