On August 13th the first articles in Nanoscale, a new peer-reviewed journal published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), appeared online. Now with over twenty articles available, the RSC is expanding its portfolio to include a dedicated journal on theoretical and experimental nanotechnology and nanoscience.

RSC journals include titles such as Chemical Communications, Lab on a Chip, Polymer Chemistry, Soft Matter, to name a few.

Nanoscale is a collaboration between the RSC Publishing and the National Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in Beijing, China. Covering everything from the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials to complex nanostructures, biomimetics, and regulation, the journal is aimed at an interdisciplinary audience of professionals broadly engaged in nanotechnology and nanoscience. The journal is being led by Chunli Bai (National Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology), Marcus Neiderberger (ETH Zurich), and Francesco Stellacci (MIT).

The journal will be published monthly.  In 2009 and 2010 the current issue will be made available online for free. Institutional subscriptions rates for 2010 are $1800 for print and online access, $1620 for online access only.
