Environmental Institute and EPA to Co-host International Conference on Nanotechnology and Environment

National Nanotechnology Network: The University of Massachusetts Amherst will be the site of the June 2009 International Conference on Environmental Implications and Applications of Nanotechnology. The call for presentation abstracts is open until November 1st.

This three-day conference will convene researchers and practitioners from around the world to address the impacts of manufactured nanoparticles on the environment and new applications for remediation and pollution control. Conference topics will include:

  • Characterization, Detection, and Analysis
  • Green Nanotechnology
  • Nano Regulatory and Policy Issues
  • Environmental Fate and Transport
  • Bioavailability, Toxicity, and Exposure
  • Pollution Control and Remediation

Co-hosted by the EPA and the Environmental Institute at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and supported by a 30-member Scientific Advisory board, the conference will include an exhibition hall, posters sessions, and networking opportunities in addition to topical presentations.
