Optomec introduced its first commercial Additive Manufacturing system in 1997 and has now installed systems at 150 customer sites in 15 countries. Our customer base includes many marquee names in industry that are using Optomec systems to develop tomorrow's novel products, including leading smart phone, solar and touch screen display manufacturers. Laboratory and government organizations such as National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Fraunhofer (IFAM, IKTS, ENAS, IWS, ISE), CEA LETI, IMEC, PeTeC, Sirris, NASA, Sandia National Laboratories, as well as the US Air Force, US Army and US Navy, are likewise using the systems to develop a range of commercial and military applications, such as extending the useful life of today's worn military components. Finally, a global academic community including Ohio State University, Washington University, Penn State University, SUNY, University of New South Wales (Australia), POSTECH (Korea), NCTU (Taiwan), Sinano (China), Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers (France), and many more are developing a new wave of engineers and scientists skilled in clean tech Optomec Additive Manufacturing technology.

Optomec is privately held, with headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Company has field sales and support offices located throughout the United States, and a global network of distributors and agents. The Company sells its products globally to OEMs, system integrators and end users in a wide range of diverse markets. Optomec holds substantial Intellectual Property assets, including more than thirty (30) issued patents and another fifty (50) pending, all in the field of Additive Manufacturing.
