QuNano AB

QuNano AB

Founded in Sweden in 2005, QuNano works to commercialize cutting-edge, proprietary semiconductor and non-semiconductor nanowire technology in diverse fields such as solid state electronics, solid state illumination, highly efficient photovoltaics, and the life sciences.

QuNano enjoys a uniquely close cooperation with scientists at Lund University’s Nanometer Structure Consortium (nmC) led by Prof. Lars Samuelson and works to build a global intellectual property portfolio and to commercialize the cutting edge quantum nanoscale inventions of nmC participants and of QuNano scientists.

Over a period of several years, scientists and engineers at QuNano have been able, in cooperation with the nmC at Lund University, to develop highly sophisticated, reliable and scalable processes to synthesize perfect crystalline nano-scale heterostructured semiconductor nanowires. These QuNano semiconductor nanowires are already en route to finding commercial application in such diverse fields as ultra-high brightness GaN epitaxial nanowire light-emitting diodes (LEDs), thin-film photovoltaics aerotaxial nanowire conversion enhancers, and new, smaller and faster transistors for low-power consumption electronics, and so forth. In some cases, this has been done through creation of venture-backed spin-out companies that are granted field of use licenses for QuNano IP.
