Singapore

Overview
The potential risks of working with and using nanomaterials have been widely recognised as has the need to use safe working practices. This training is based on the concepts highlighted in internationally recognized best practice, (ISO, UK Nanosafety Group) combined with tested approaches that are used by leading nanomaterial research institutions.

Objectives
To provide laboratory staff, students and safety and health professionals at universities and other R&D facilities with a good understanding of approaches towards safe and healthy working in labs where nanomaterials are used or produced. On completion of this course, participants will understand the protection needs and applicable technical and organisational measures including how to identify and correctly wear personal protective equipment. The training includes practical hands-on exercises that will help all participants translate the guidance into their daily lab routines in a safe and healthy way.
