National Nanomanufacturing Network: The Center for Nanophase Materials Science (CNMS) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory has issued a solicitation for nanoscience research proposals that would make use of the CNMS research capabilities and staff expertise.

Deadline for submission is November 24, 2008.

The CNMS is a collaborative nanoscience user research facility, one of five Nanoscale Science Research Centers established by the Department of Energy. The CNMS can accommodate synthesis, characterization, theory/modeling/simulation, and design of nanoscale materials. Access is provided without fee for public domain research.

Prospective users are encouraged to submit proposals that utilize and exploit synergies of research capabilities in two or more  research areas that will significantly advance understanding of nanoscale phenomena and develoop functional nanomaterials systems.

The complete solicitation, including description of CNMS capabilities and guidelines for submissions, is available from the CNMS website.
