The NanoProduct Lab, also known as the Bedewy Research Group, at the University of Pittsburgh was established by Dr. Mostafa Bedewy in fall 2016.

Our group focuses on fundamental experimental research at the interface between nanoscience, biotechnology, and manufacturing engineering. We make basic scientific discoveries and applied technological developments in the broad area of advanced manufacturing at multiple length scales, aiming at creating novel solutions that impact major societal challenges in areas related to  energy , healthcare, and the environment.

Nanopareil [nano-puh-rel] produces cutting-edge separation media composed of functionalized nanofibers. The product is manufactured from a randomly overlaid mat of electrospun nanofibers, which provide a unique separation medium capable of both size-based as well as adsorptive separation mechanisms. The highly advanced and proprietary formulation provides the opportunity to greatly enhance process efficiencies and economics in the biopharmaceutical, water treatment, desalination, blood products, and air purification industries.

Dotz Ltd. is an exciting new venture, aimed at capitalizing on the technological innovation in the Graphene Quantum Dots (GQD) market. Its vision is to be the premier producer of GQD’s by producing and supplying high quality GQD’s for use in various applications including medical imaging, sensing, consumer electronics, energy storage, solar cells and computer storage.
